19th century Bronze Chinese tripod censer or planter

For sale, an antique bronze Chinese tripod censer or decorative planter with beasts embellishments. Has been polished in the past but regaining a golden antique patina. A censer is a traditional type of vessel commonly used in East Asia, particularly in Chinese culture, for burning incense during rituals, religious ceremonies, or for personal meditation and relaxation. They are commonly made of bronze and typically stand on three legs (hence the ‘tripod’ description). Often adorned with intricate carvings, engravings, or motifs, such as dragons, beasts, phoenixes, floral patterns, or Taoist and Buddhist symbols.

Circa 19th century.
