This brass charger would make a wonderful fruit bowl. The charger is hallmarked ‘KAA’, the mark for the Kandyan Art Association, from central Sri Lanka, formerly Ceylon. The Kandyan Art Association was formed in 1882 to revitalise traditional Kandyan arts and crafts (such as metal working, weaving, wood carving, painting, jewelry making, music and dance) and support the traditional craftsmen by providing them with a sales outlet.
