A howdah is a carriage seat, usually fitted with a canopy and railing, mounted on the back of an elephant. The howdahs used for royal ceremonies and military battles were often elaborately decorated and ornamental.

Condition
Overall good original used condition. No sign of repair or restoration. Usual signs of wear commensurate with a decorative wooden item of this age. There is a natural split in the wood on the tail. Please carefully check all the photos for close up details as they form an integral part of the description.
